With millions of students on TikTok, it’s the perfect channel for providing learning content. Here are 6 TikTok influencers that are helping college students and teachers learn and thrive in the classroom.

There’s no denying the power of TikTok. With more than 1 billion active users every month (more than double that of Twitter), the video-sharing platform has shifted how people consume content—especially college students.

Professor Angelita Howard of Morehouse University even wrote an ebook on TikTok projects that she incorporates into her curriculum.

Now that millions of students are on the platform, it’s the perfect channel for providing learning content.

Course Hero asked Justin Nguyen of Declassified Media who some of his favorite TikTok influencers were for college students and teachers—and here are his top picks:

Justice Shepard started his TikTok account as a junior majoring in electrical engineering at University of California Santa Barbara. His account quickly grew to 1.8 million followers, making him one of the most popular math tutors on the platform. He has since started his own tutoring business called Shepard Tutoring, where his mission is to help make education as accessible as possible.

MIT graduate Gohar Khan offers college admissions advice to more than 2.1 million followers on his TikTok account. His videos offer support and motivation to millions of students to help them get into their dream college. Some of his most popular videos include his “How to Find the Motivation for School” series, which has amassed some 7 million views.

Since starting her TikTok in 2020, Kat has helped millions of people (not just students) work with Excel more efficiently so they can save time and frustration. She even offers her own course on mastering Excel, which has been featured in Forbes and Business Insider.
